If
you have a question that isn't covered here, please feel free to give
me a call on 07970 408360.
I don't place any limits on the number of photographs I give you, but as a rough guide, at a wedding where I am covering the full day you would normally end up with around 200 - 250 finished images. Do you take formal shots? Absolutely. I treat every wedding as a unique event and if formal shots are required I'm very happy to fit these in to the coverage. Many couples these days are unsure whether to have formal photographs, but my advice would be to think about how you would feel twenty years down the line if you didn't have any photographs with you and your close relatives at your wedding day. That normally answers the question. Having said that, don't go overboard with the formals, shooting every possible permutation of different family groups! If you assume that each formal will take 3-5 minutes to shoot you can see how shooting even ten can eat considerably into the time available. When can we see our photographs? Images are usually ready around 14-21 days after your wedding, and you can then enjoy reliving your day and choosing the images for your album at your leisure. How many photographs will be in our album? A minimum of 60 images is included in the standard album, but in practice most couples end up with anything up to 150 images in their album. I can also create albums with a little as 15 images as a bespoke arrangement if required. It's very much up to you. Get in touch and I can put together a package that exactly meets your needs, including the number of images in your album. Can friends and family see the photographs? Of course. All of your finished images will be uploaded to a password protected online gallery. Will the pictures be digitally manipulated? I prefer the word "finished", but in short the answer is yes! I am a strong believer that taking a good shot is only half the process of producing a great image. Whether it was in the old days of darkroom techniques or today's Lightroom and Photoshop applications, finishing has always been a very important part of presenting the final image. I take great pride in "finishing" every picture that you receive. How much time should we allow for the reception? It's important to strike a balance on your wedding day between allowing yourself enough time to relax, get the photographs done and not feel rushed, and not leaving your guests waiting for too long. In my experience, you should allow around 2 hours from the end of the ceremony to the start of your wedding breakfast or receiving line, not including any necessary travel time. What happens if the weather is bad? Living in the UK means that you can never bank on having great weather, even in the middle of the summer, but there's no need to worry if the conditions are adverse. If we are unlucky I am quite happy to work indoors and make the most of your wedding venue, and I always bring lighting equipment too in case the available lighting is insufficient. Even in the UK, however, it's very unusual for the day to pass without a 15 minute respite from the rain which is usually enough time to go out and get some great shots. Failing that, braver couples might like to choose an umbrella from my collection and go out anyway! Who owns the copyright to the photographs? As with all professional photography, the copyright remains with myself, the photographer. Your own copies of the images come with full reproduction rights which gives you every legal entitlement you need to print, share and ditribute the photographs for personal use. Are you insured? Yes, I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance. I would also recommend that you take out your own wedding insurance to cover other eventualities. Do you belong to any professional photographic bodies? Yes, I am an Associate member of the British Institute of Professional Photography and the Wedding Photojournalist Association, a global body with very strict membership criteria.
